Florida State needs a quarterback commit in the 2027 cycle. This weekend, they had a familiar face on campus, and it was UCF three-star commit Logan Flaherty.

FSU had hosted Logan four times before his visit on Friday. However, this was the first since last August when he attended Florida State’s season opener against Alabama. Despite the time away, and pledging to another program, Flaherty enjoyed his trip immensely.

“It was awesome to be back,” Flaherty said via Noles247. “You guys know, I’ve been here a lot of times. I really enjoy Florida State. Grew up watching Florida State football. Both my parents graduated from here. It’s always a blessing to be back on campus. Watched a great practice today.”

This trip was somewhat different from the previous ones that Flaherty took. The coaching staff has been revamped on the offensive side, with Tim Harris Jr. being promoted to offensive coordinator and Austin Tucker being named the quarterbacks coach. Also, head coach Mike Norvell will be calling the plays going forward with the retirement of Gus Malzahn.

Sometimes, change is a good thing, and Flaherty is on board with getting to know more about the new direction the Seminoles are going offensively.

“Obviously it’s a little bit different but coach Tucker has been here for a little bit. Getting to know him more personally obviously since he’s taken over as the head of the recruiting [at QB],” said Flaherty. “I think it’s a blessing to continue to meet new people and build new relationships. I think it’s really important for me, relationships is a main point of everything.”

Flaherty is the No. 726 player nationally and the No. 43 quarterback per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 69 prospect in the state of Florida.

His junior season was very productive. Flaherty threw for 2,636 yards and 27 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He was also a force on the ground as he tallied 595 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, which also included one game with over 100 yards rushing.

Flaherty has several more visits coming up, and a spring trip plus an official visit to Florida State could happen as well.
