The sign has been missing from this facade of a building for nearly a year, though the reason for its removal is still unclear upon its restoration.

Universal Restores Metropolis Tribune Signage

The Metropolis Tribune building, a large Art Deco teal structure in the New York area, just past Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, has had its full gold signage restored.

The Metropolis Tribune sign was removed in summer 2025 for undisclosed reasons. The building itself does not host any attraction or other guest amenities beyond stroller parking, though the area immediately around it has hosted a few Halloween Horror Nights in the 1990s.

With the reinstallation back onto the building’s entry awning, the design appears unchanged but in good visual condition. We can assume there was some general maintenance and cleaning work on the sign during its absence.

Although the structure does not host any major guest experiences, the building is notable for a variety of names spread across its windows. The names featured span a number of designers and workers who contributed to developing Universal Studios Florida – a tribute similar to window name prints found throughout Main Street, U.S.A. in Disney Parks.
