After a historic season that saw the team put up an undefeated record, Miami University is set to play in the 2026 March Madness tournament.The RedHawks are ranked as an 11 seed and will face off against Southern Methodist University for a play-in spot during the First Four round in Dayton on March 18.The winner will then play in the Round of 64 for the right to take on Tennessee in Philadelphia on March 20.This marks the RedHawks’ first appearance in the tournament since 2007. It is also the first time that any MAC team has earned an at-large bid to March Madness since the RedHawks did it in 1999.Miami went 31-0 in the regular season this year. However, the team would lose their very next game in the MAC conference tournament this past Thursday, falling 87-83 to Massachusetts.The Miami women’s basketball team is also expected to be part of the women’s March Madness tournament after winning the MAC championship on Saturday, although their seed is not yet known.
