Florida State wraps up week one of spring practice with first padded practice

  • March 16, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Friday marked the Florida State football team’s first padded practice of spring practice, and their final practice before spring break, a practice head coach Mike Norvell said was a good day.

Norvell said he’s been impressed with the freshman through the first few days of practice, and called out the freshman who have been practicing at receiver, saying they’re gotten a lot of reps.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the team is around the quarterbacks. Ashton Daniels, the transfer from Auburn, and Kevin Sperry highlighted practice Friday.

“You want to see if the explosive play shows up, and that’s happened,” said Norvell, who added the quarterback room is a talented one.

Florida State will resume practice after spring break concludes next week.
