CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER COMING UP IN THE NEXT 15 MINUTES. WELL, TONIGHT, TURN TO A TRAVEL NIGHTMARE AT MCO FOR LOTS OF PASSENGERS WHO SAW DELAYED OR EVEN CANCELED FLIGHTS BECAUSE OF AN HOURS LONG GROUND STOP THAT’S NOW EXPECTED TO LAST UNTIL 1045. WESH TWO’S DAVID JONES IS AT THE AIRPORT TONIGHT, WHERE MANY SPRING BREAKERS WILL HAVE TO EXTEND THEIR STAY HERE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. LOTS OF EXASPERATED SPRING BREAK TRAVELERS INSIDE OF THE MCO TERMINAL. ACCORDING TO FLIGHTAWARE, AROUND 500 DELAYS AND NEARLY 100 CANCELLATIONS. JUST SUNDAY ALONE, MUCH OF IT DUE TO WEATHER AND A GROUND STOP. MCO TERMINALS PACKED WITH WEARY TRAVELERS SUNDAY NIGHT, ALL TRYING TO GET HOME. WE DID PRETTY WELL, BUT HATE TO END IT THIS WAY WITH GETTING OUR FLIGHT CANCELED. THE RUSSELL SAGE COLLEGE BASEBALL TEAM FROM NEW YORK STATE WAS NOT SHIELDED FROM THE EFFECTS OF THE STORMS. 45 OF THEM WILL BE STAYING OVERNIGHT AT THE AIRPORT AFTER A FLORIDA TRIP TO ORLANDO FOR SPRING BREAK. WE’RE TOLD THAT WE’LL PUSH BACK UNTIL TOMORROW AND THERE’S SOME MORE TALK OF THE SOFTBALL TEAM FOR OUR FOR OUR SCHOOL THAT COULD ALSO BE PUSHED BACK UNTIL TUESDAY. SO IT’S IT’S DEFINITELY A LITTLE SETBACK, BUT, YOU KNOW, STILL HAD A GOOD TRIP. WE’RE TRYING TO GET TO SAINT LOUIS AND CONNECT. BUT THAT FLIGHT HAS DISAPPEARED. BRITTANY FERRIES IS TRYING TO MAKE IT BACK TO OMAHA WITH HER FAMILY. WE ARE STUCK HERE AND WE’RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO EITHER STAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS OR GET HOME TO NEBRASKA SOMEHOW. IT’S THE BUSIEST DAY OF SPRING BREAK TRAVEL FAIR, AND LIKE SO MANY OTHERS, A VICTIM OF WEATHER RELATED DISRUPTIONS ALL WEEK. AND WE WENT TO ALL THE PARKS. WE MIGHT EVEN DO UNIVERSAL NOW. TOMORROW WE HAVE AN EXTRA DAY. WHO KNOWS? BUT MY HUSBAND JUST LIKE KEEPS SEEING THE DOLLAR SIGNS, YOU KNOW, AND HE’S LIKE, COME ON, COME HOME. WE KNOW THESE GROUND STOPS, DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS CAN HAVE CASCADING EFFECTS THAT CAN LAST INTO THE START OF THE WEEK. SO THIS IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WE’LL KEE
