There will be a new place to break Olde Hearth Bread soon. The company has announced that it is opening a retail location at 1231 N. Orange Ave. in mid-May.

While Olde Hearth pops up at a number of local markets, the company hasn’t had a retail location since it closed its East End Market outlet in 2021. The new shop in Swanson’s Ivanhoe Row will replace House of Sploot, which recently relocated to Longwood.

While the wholesale part of the business is doing well, owners Shannon and Janice Talty said they are excited to have a brick-and-mortar outlet again, giving them an opportunity to try out new flavors.

“We can play around with ancient grain breads and seasonal pastry recipes, get some over-the-counter feedback, express our creative side and see what clicks with the neighborhood,” said Janice in a release.
