Disney World and Universal Orlando are under a strong storm threat beginning this afternoon and extending into the evening today, March 16.

There is a slight risk of strong to severe storms today, March 16. The primary threats are damaging wind gusts of 44-45 mph (with a 15% change of 60 mph+ gusts) and quarter-sized hail (5% chance). There is also a small chance for a couple of tornadoes (2%).

The strong storm risk begins at approximately 1:00 p.m. through tonight at 10:00 p.m. The high today is 85 degrees, and the low will be 50 degrees.

Guests visiting the theme parks in Central Florida should have plenty of rain gear and be prepared for outdoor attraction closures. There will be frequent lightning strikes amidst the heavy rain.
