Jessie Trice Community Health System will provide free dental care to uninsured children this weekend during its annual Give Kids a Smile Day event in Miami.
The event will take place March 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jessie Trice Community Health System corporate office, located at 5607 N.W. 27th Ave. in Miami. The initiative is being held in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Dental Society.
The event will offer free general dental services for uninsured children, including exams, cleanings and sealants.
“Give Kids a Smile Day is an important part of our ongoing commitment to children’s health in the communities we serve,” said Deborah George, executive vice president and chief dental officer at Jessie Trice Community Health System, in a press release. “We encourage families to join us and take advantage of the services being offered.”
In addition to dental screenings and cleanings, organizers say the event will include entertainment and activities designed for children and families. Planned attractions include face painting, bounce houses and spin-the-wheel games with prizes, as well as food and other family-friendly activities.
Families interested in participating can call the health system at 305-637-6400 to obtain more information or schedule an appointment.
