TAMPA, Fla. — FBI Tampa officials said normal gate operations have resumed at MacDill Air Force Base following an investigation into a suspicious package.

At around 2 p.m. Monday, FBI Tampa officials said the Dale Mabry gate was closed while bomb techs investigated a package found near the MacDill AFB Visitors Center.

MacDill Air Force Base officials said the Dale Mabry gate and the visitor center were closed during the investigation.

At around 6:30 p.m., FBI Tampa posted on social media that the package had been cleared, and normal gate operations had resumed.
