According to the Cape Coral Fire Department, firefighters responded to a house fire in the 400 block of Southeast 13th Terrace just before 6 p.m.

Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 400 block of Southeast 13th Terrace just before 6 p.m.

CCFD said one of the residents arrived home, found it filled with smoke, and called 911. No one else was home at the time.

Two dogs and two cats were inside the home, which firefighters safely rescued. All four animals were given oxygen by Lee County Emergency Medical Services and taken to an emergency vet.
