Former Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Christian Kirk is signing with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Jordan Schultz.

This is a one-year deal for Kirk worth $6 million.

During the 2022 offseason, the Jaguars signed Kirk to a four-year deal with a max value of $84 million. In March of 2025, after three seasons with the team, the Jaguars traded Kirk to the Houston Texans.

At the time, trading Kirk freed up $10.43 million in cap space for the 2025 season. In return, the Jaguars received a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

In Kirk’s one season with Houston, he caught 28 passes for 239 yards with one touchdown during the regular season, per PFF. In the playoffs, he had a 144-yard performance in the Texans’ wildcard win over Pittsburgh. Including the playoffs, Kirk appeared in 15 games with the Texans.

With the Jaguars, Kirk had been very effective when on the field and was a favorite target of quarterback Trevor Lawrence. After an 1,100-yard season in 2022, Kirk totaled 787 yards in 2023, despite playing in only 12 games.

However, injuries limited his impact in 2023 and 2024, with Kirk playing in only 19 out of a possible 34 games during that span.

At the top of the wide receiver depth chart for the Jaguars in 2026 are Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, and Travis Hunter.
