TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee police officer Carl ‘Tony’ Carlson was selected by the Florida Crime Prevention Association as Florida’s Crime Prevention Practitioner of the Year, per a TPD press release.
Tallahassee police say that Carlson has worked for a total of 27 years and spent the last two years with TPD’s Crime Prevention and Community Relations Unit.
Carlson was the head liaison for more than 20 neighborhood crime watch associations and over 50 homeowner’s associations, per the media release.

TPD Chief Lawrence Revell said Carlson is deserving of the achievement.
“Officer Carlson’s commitment to proactive policing and community partnership reflects the very best of what we stand for at TPD and our motto: Here for You,” Revell said.
“His leadership in crime prevention and dedication to the safety of our neighborhoods exemplify the professionalism, service and excellence our officers bring to this city every day. We are incredibly proud to see his hard work recognized at the state level.”
