Authorities are searching for the person who fatally shot a West Park man early Sunday morning, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly after 3 a.m., deputies responded to a shooting on the 5400 block of Southwest 22nd Street and found Timothy Motes, who had been shot and was lying on the ground near his home, the office said.

Motes, 58, was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he died. The shooting happened around 2 a.m., but deputies weren’t called until about an hour later.

There was no description of the suspect, who has not been identified and remained at large as of Tuesday afternoon.
