Walt Disney World Cast Members are being invited to playtest the refurbished Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin this weekend and next week at Magic Kingdom.

A screenshot shared with WDWNT from the Disney Cast Life portal reveals that the Cast Member playtests are taking place from March 21 through March 27.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closed last August for a major technological overhaul by Imagineering. The revamped ride will reopen on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The updated technology on the Magic Kingdom version is expected to be similar to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! and Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue at Shanghai Disneyland.

The ride has all-new vehicles, replacing the original 1970s If You Had Wings vehicles, with displays showcasing the revamped scoring system. The climactic battle scene is also updated to add Buzz, and the new on-ride photo now includes scores for bragging rights. Disney teased Toy Story 5 Easter eggs and more surprises in the ride.

The exterior is also going through an update, including a new sign that pays homage to If You Had Wings.
