While deputies and dive crews continued their search efforts Tuesday, the tip of the canoe that capsized while transporting four teens and that left one missing could still be seen in the water.

Around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, deputies on a pontoon boat began focusing on an area of the lake, not too far from where the canoe capsized.

Shortly after, deputies were seen placing what appeared to be a yellow bag into the water, later pulling something from the water and placing it back onto the boat.

Officials have yet to give an update on the search or what the bag was used for.

A medical examiner and a forensics vehicle were also seen entering the Cypress Grove Park on Tuesday.

Officials used four boats to search the lake and a helicopter throughout the day on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, when four teenagers went canoeing on Lake Jessamine before it capsized.

Three of the teenagers were rescued, and the search for the fourth began soon after.

Crews have been searching all over the lake, which spans about 300 acres and ranges from 10 feet to 30 feet in depth in certain areas, according to data from Orange County.

Family and friends were present Tuesday to watch as the search continued from the shoreline.

The principal of Forest Lake Academy in Apopka sent Spectrum News 13 an email on Tuesday confirming that the missing teen is a student of the private school.

In that email, Glen Baker confirmed that three junior class students and one former student were in the canoe when it capsized.

He also said there was a vigil Monday evening at the Forest Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church, where family and friends showed up to support each other as the search continues.

Forest Lake Academy will have counselors and pastors on site next week, when students and staff return to school after spring break.
