ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 66-year-old St. Petersburg woman was killed Tuesday morning in a traffic crash at the intersection of 38th Avenue North and 66th Street North, authorities said.
Joanne Greehan was driving a Nissan Sentra north on 66th Street North when she “made an improper left turn onto 38th Avenue North” just after 10 a.m., St. Petersburg police said in a news release.
She drove into the path of a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was heading south on 66th Street.
The vehicles collided, sending the car off the road, where it hit a pole, police said.
Greehan was brought to HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her next of kin has been notified.
The truck’s driver sustained minor injuries. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
