ORLANDO, Fla. — The Pulse nightclub has been demolished nearly ten years after a gunman committed one of the deadliest massacres in U.S. history.
The city of Orlando plans to construct a memorial to honor the 49 people killed in the mass shooting in 2016.
During the shooting, authorities said the gunman called 911 and pledged allegiance to the leader of ISIS.
The group is known for its intolerance of LGBTQ people.
The gunman was killed in a shootout with law enforcement.
