Doris Deloris Weston-Matthews, affectionately known as “Jackie,” passed away suddenly on March 10, 2026 at her residence in Miramar, Florida.
Jackie was born and raised in Marianna, FL and accepted Christ at an early age at Pope Chapel A.M.E. Church. She graduated from Marianna High School in 1975 and went on to earn her degree from the Florida A & M University School of Pharmacy.
She began her career as a staff pharmacist at Eckerd Drugs in Miami, Florida and most recently retired as a hospital pharmacist at Memorial West Hospital.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Antonio “Smoove” Matthews; her mother, Doris Liggans of Tallahassee; four brothers: Crushell Weston of Marianna, FL, Manuel Freeman (Deborah) of Miramar, FL, Gebru Freeman (Sugeidy) of Pompano Beach, FL, and Matthew Weston of Marianna, FL; four sisters: Marina Freeman of Marianna, FL, Regina Speights (Alexander) of Marianna, FL, Renee Weston of Marianna, FL, and LaVita Sherman of Tallahassee, FL; and one special uncle, Ernest Weston Jr. of Miami, FL. She leaves behind numerous sorrowing family members and friends. Jackie was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas “Nicki” Weston.
The wake will be March 28, 2026 from 4 – 8 pm at Royal Funeral Home, 17475 NW 27th Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33056
Funeral Services will be April 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at Pope Chapel AME Church, Blue Springs Rd, Marianna, Fl 32446
