A Jacksonville firefighter was arrested on Wednesday by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office after allegedly striking a fellow firefighter following a verbal altercation in the Cisco Gardens neighborhood.

According to his arrest report, Joshua Jordan, 38, is said to have told other firefighters that he “wanted to confront” the victim regarding issues that they were having, then walked up to the victim shortly afterwards.

The report states that the victim, who will not be identified, told officers that he initially ignored Jordan before leaving the area. Jordan then followed, which resulted in the altercation turning from verbal to physical. The victim told police that witnesses in the area had “attempted” to de-escalate the situation, but failed.
