INDIANTOWN – Three Indiantown Middle School students were hospitalized on Oct. 22 after apparently eating THC-infused gummies on campus, Derek Lowe, Martin County School District public information officer, confirmed Oct. 23.
“They alerted staff, told them they were feeling weird,” Lowe said. “They were conscious and alert.”
The students were taken by Martin County Fire-Rescue to a local hospital where they were treated and expected to be OK, according to Lowe.
The students got the gummies from another student while school was in session, Lowe said.
“We know how they got the gummies, we know who the student was who gave them the gummies,” Lowe said.
The incident is being investigated by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Lowe said.
