One Unforgettable Day to Help Your Teen Build Confidence, Communication, and CharacterA hands-on leadership challenge event for middle and high school students who want to Step Up, Speak Up, and Stand Out.

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Kate Tiedemann School of Business at USF St. Petersburg will transform into a high‑energy “real life lab” for 100 motivated middle and high school students from across Tampa Bay. The St. Pete Standout is a one‑day leadership and social‑skills competition where teens build confidence, communication, and character through fast‑paced, professional‑style challenges.

Throughout the day, students rotate through Skills Sprint stations, “Work the Room” networking practice, and Hot Seat interview rounds led by local business and community mentors. Top performers advance to an on‑stage finals session where they answer questions and debate in front of an audience, turning all those nerves into real‑world poise.

Designed for kids who shrink back and for natural extroverts who need polish, Standout gives teens a rare chance to practice handshakes, intros, listening, judgment, and thinking on their feet in a supportive, coached environment that looks nothing like school—but everything like the world they’re heading into.

For kids 11-18.
