The final Friday night for district football games promises to deliver some drama.

We have reporters providing live updates on key games as they unfold (below) and will be looking for news from other contests. Check back frequently to see the live updates.

Friday’s key games
No. 5 Evans (7-1, 2-0) at No. 13 Oviedo (6-2, 2-0)

Oviedo leads 22-14 as the third quarter ends.

TOUCHDOWN: On 4th down and 8, Sebastian Galeano finds Emiliano Galarza for a 30-yard catch and run to the end zone. That’s Galarza’s second touchdown tonight. Two-point conversion is good. 22-14 Oviedo. 2:54 3Q.

Azariel Woods’ deep pass on fourth down try to Omyry Hickson is broken up. Turnover on downs for the Trojans. Oviedo takes over at its 45. 5:35 3Q.

Winner-take-all for the Class 6A District 4 title for the second year in a row. Oviedo won 30-20 at Evans last year.

Evans has won seven straight since losing its opener to West Orange and is No. 8 in the FHSAA 6A power rankings. Oviedo is No. 18.

No. 10 West Orange (7-1, 2-0) at Ocoee (6-3, 2-0)

West Orange is stuffed on 4th and 1 after a pair of running plays go absolutely nowhere. Ocoee clings to 14-7 lead. 11:31 to go in the game.

West Orange faces 3rd and 1 at midfield as they look to tie this game up. 14-7 Ocoee leads.

TOUCHDOWN: A 40 yard punt return for West Orange’s Duggy Glover led to a one yard rushing touchdown for Yuto Kawamura-Johnson. 14-7 Ocoee Q3 2:19.

The referees pick up the flag as Devonte Anderson picks up a huge interception for West Orange. Ocoee leads 14-0 with 7:13 to go in the third quarter.

A 75 yard touchdown run for Ocoee’ Tyson Davison is called back due to holding. 0-0 Q1 7:28

Ocoee stuffs West Orange on 4th and 4 after sending an all-out blitz on back to back plays. Knights ball at their own 25. 0-0 Q1 7:44.

Ocoee won the toss and deferred. It’ll be West Orange’s ball to start the Class 7A District 5 Championship game.

PRE-GAME NOTE:

The winner of “The Shield” rivalry game claims the 7A District 5 championship.

West Orange edged the Knights 21-14 to clinch the district crown last season and lead the series 15-7.

The Warriors have lost only to undefeated Boone.

Innovation (8-0) at Windermere (7-0)

Headed to the fourth quarter: Windemere 21, Innovation 7.

TOUCHDOWN: Henry Rogers does the dirty work with 67 yards on the drive, and CJ Bronaugh gets the touchdown from one yard out. Windermere leads Innovation 21–7, 4:58 left in the third quarter.

Windermere’s Keagan Kiefer misses a 34-yard field goal at the end of the first half. Wolverines lead 14-7 at the break.

TOUCHDOWN: Innovation gets a drive going, and aided by two pass interference penalties, scores. Ralph Taylor caps an 80 yard possession with a 1 yard touchdown run. Windermere leads 14–7 with 1:59 left in the first half.

TOUCHDOWN: It was all Henry Rogers on this Windermere drive as he carried the ball six times for 76 yards, aided by penalties. He capped the possession with a 2 yard scoring run. Windermere leads 14–0, 5:07 left in the second quarter

Windermere’s Eddie Russomanno comes up with a big interception, deep in Innovation territory, first down Wolverines at the Bulls’ 11 yard line.

PRE-GAME NOTE:

These teams from opposite sides of Orange County have dominated the OCPS independent division. Windermere has averaged 52.1 points per game and allowed only 12 points all season. Innovation, in only its second year, has averaged 39.6 points and surrendered only 49. The Bulls only close game was a 10-3 win against Leesburg (5-3).

The Wolverines rolled to a 40-6 win last season — but that was against an Innovation team that had no seniors.

Week 10 Football Preview: West Orange-Ocoee, Evans-Oviedo to settle districts

Other Super 16 games

Lake Region (4-4) at No. 2 Jones (6-2) 

Jones leads 42-0 at halftime.

The Tigers, No. 3 in 4A, have won four in a row since their close losses to Edgewater and Evans.

FSU High (4-4) at No. 3 Bishop Moore (8-0)

The Hornets are ranked fourth in Class 3A.

Freedom (2-6) at No. 4 Boone (8-0)

Boone leads 48-0 at halftime.

Boone has climbed to third in the FHSAA 7A power rankings.

No. 6 DeLand (7-0, 1-0) at Orange City University (1-7, 0-2)

DeLand leads 63-0 in the third quarter.

The Titans scored their first against DeLand in eight tries last season, 55-35. But the Buldogs, ranked No. 2 in 7A, are big favorites this time.

Celebration (1-7, 0-2) at No. 7 Dr. Phillips (6-2, 2-0) 

The Panthers have already wrapped up the 7A District 5 title.

The Hun School of New Jersey (6-3) at No. 8 The First Academy (4-4)

TFA plays another powerhouse while a potential lawsuit hangs over its ban from the state playoffs.

Lake Wales (6-2) at No. 9 Osceola (6-2)

Lake Wales leads 14-13 at the half.

Two playoff bound teams tune up. Osceola is No. 12 in 6A. The Highlanders are No. 10 in 4A.

They meet for the first time since the Kowboys won 22-13 in 2005.

No. 11 Lake Mary (5-3. 2-0) at No. 14 Lake Brantley (6-2, 0-2)

Lake Mary leads 23-10 at halftime.

Lake Mary won 35-2 in 2023 and 52-12 last season. But Brantley leads the rivalry, 24-19.

Hagerty (5-3, 1-1) at No. 12 Seminole (4-4, 1-1)

Seminole leads 12-3 at halftime.

The winner sews up the 7A District 3 runner-up spot behind Lake Mary.

No. 15 Winter Park (4-4, 1-1) at Timber Creek (3-5, 1-1)

They’ve played every year since 2005.

Winter Park has won three in a row and leads the series 12-8.

Harmony (4-4, 0-2) at No. 16 St. Cloud (6-2, 2-0)

The Bulldogs have sealed the 7A District 10 title.

St. Cloud won 29-8 last year and leads the rivalry 11-9. They’ve played every year since 2005.
