To meet the rising demand for integrated, patient-centered care in Martin, St. Lucie and Palm Beach counties, Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has teamed up with Mass General Brigham (MGB) on a new joint venture that will expand access to world-class health care in the region.

Tampa General and Mass General Brigham gathered in Palm Beach last week with physicians, community leaders and members of the community to preview what’s to come. Tampa General and MGB are building a coordinated ambulatory network that will include primary care, specialty care, advanced imaging, oncology and outpatient surgical procedures.

“As one of the state’s leading academic health systems, Tampa General is committed to meeting the needs of Floridians by expanding access to world-class care,” said John Couris, President and CEO of Florida Health Sciences Center and Tampa General Hospital.

“This partnership with one of the nation’s top academic health systems reflects our vision to lead in delivering innovative, patient-centered care across the state, while strengthening the health of our communities today and for generations to come.”

The first milestone of the partnership is a new radiation oncology center, opening in the 11000 block of Legacy Avenue in Palm Beach Gardens later this year. Here, Floridians with cancer will find an abundance of clinical expertise, the most advanced medical technology and a well-coordinated, patient-centered experience.

“By creating a unified ambulatory network, we can broaden access to trusted physicians and advanced outpatient services, improve health outcomes, and deliver care that is more coordinated and patient-focused,” said Anne Klibanski, MD, CEO of Mass General Brigham.

The joint venture stretches beyond cancer care. Together, TGH and MGB will work to expand the Tampa General Physicians Network, currently spanning 20 locations, including providing advanced training initiatives and collaborative clinical research opportunities.

TGH is Florida’s premier academic health system. Through its partnership with University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine (USF Health), TGH combines cutting-edge research, groundbreaking medical technology, and expert care to improve health outcomes in communities across the state of Florida. TGH’s joint venture with MGB builds on this success with greater collaboration on research and expanded access for patients.

Tampa General and MGB have collaborated on several projects in recent years including the Home Base Program for Veterans and their families. Born at MGB, this model promotes health and wellness among veterans and provides specific services for veterans with traumatic brain injuries.

In 2023, MGB helped TGH build a robust and clinically meaningful bone marrow transplant program, including advising on clinical protocols and staffing. In 2025, the program achieved FACT accreditation, a peer-reviewed certification that verifies high standards for cellular therapies.
