FLORIDA – A push to officially do away with yellow registration decals will not become a reality in Florida after the bill did not pass the House, at least not for now.
Florida Rep. Tom Fabricio filed the bill (HB 841) to remove the state requirement that drivers display a yellow registration decal on their license plates.
The proposal would have allowed vehicle renewals to be recorded electronically, which supporters of the bill said could have helped Floridians save on fees.
On March 13, the bill died in the House without a final vote because the Senate rejected the House’s changes, and the two chambers couldn’t agree on a final version of the legislation before the deadline.
Gov. Ron DeSantis showed support for the bill, praising it in a post on X after it was introduced.
