SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – A man wanted on several charges in Shenandoah County was arrested in Okaloosa, Florida on Sunday.
According to the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, a disabled vehicle was spotted in the area of Bob Sikes Blvd., which turned out to be registered to Andrew Shoemaker.
SCSO put out a call to the community on March 12 to help find the 26-year-old who was wanted on several charges.
Following an investigation, a gun was recovered that had been stolen out of Woodstock and Shoemaker was taken into custody.
He’s facing the following charges:
Two (2) counts of 18.2-60: Threats in WritingTwo (2) counts of 18.2-12: Violating a Protective Order18.2-95: Grand Larceny18.2-57: Assault46.2-894: Hit and Run46.2-854: Reckless Driving
Shoemaker was also wanted by the Virginia State Police for failure to update a sex offender registry.
Shoemaker is currently being held at the Okaloosa County Department of Corrections and is awaiting extradition back to Virginia.
