Authorities investigate after a man died this week in the Glades detention center
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says a Mexican migrant has died in the Florida county jail that has been holding immigrant detainees. According to the Associated Press, the death of Royer Perez-Jimenez on Monday is the 46th reported under ICE custody since the start of President Donald Trump’s second term.
Republican Representative Will Robinson said, “I cannot think of a worse place in Florida for a mega cruise terminal to be than Terra Ceia.”
The monarch butterfly population has declined more than 80% since 1990. Conservation groups fear more delays will put monarchs at risk of extinction and argue that monarchs need federal Endangered Species Act protections.
