ET SOFTBALL: Ladycats cruise past Jacksonville, 21-2

HALLSVILLE 21, JACKSONVILLE 2: Libby Ford homered and drove in two runs, Erin Terry, Averie Blocker and Ella Baird all added three RBI for the Ladycats and Hallsville cruised to a 21-2 win over Jacksonville on Thursday in District 10-5A softball action.
Blocker, Baird, Layine Fisher and Morgan Garcia all doubled for Hallsville, which scored seven times in the top of the first and added scoring innings of six in the second, one in the third and seven more in the fourth.
The Ladycats finished with 11 hits, and took advantage of five Jacksonville errors and six walks.
Garcia had two RBI, Fisher an RBI, Heidi Hart one RBI, Raelynn Harley one RBI, Terry three hits, Blocker three hits, Maddie McKinney an RBI and Audrey Jones a single and an RBI.
Terry struck out seven with no walks and two unearned runs allowed on two hits in four innings to earn the pitching win.
The Ladycats improved to 14-5-1 overall and 4-1 in district play with the win.
