A Florida man went viral earlier this week when he was filmed while driving his vehicle down the highway. The man looked strikingly similar to disgraced financier and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

There has been a long-running conspiracy theory that Epstein, who reportedly committed suicide in his jail cell in 2019, is still alive. The viral video played into the conspiracy theory, and the internet started going wild.

As it turns out, the man in the video is not Jeffrey Epstein, and he found out he was going viral when friends were blowing up his phone. Now, he has revealed himself as “Palm Beach Pete.”

“Hey everybody, this is Palm Beach Pete, and my video went viral, because some dude randomly filmed me while I was driving on I-95, unbeknownst to me, and the next thing I know, I’m a viral sensation,” the man said.

“I had my phone down for about four hours, and I didn’t know my phone was blowing up with all these comments from that video. So I got a lot of traction. It’s pretty crazy. Thanks. So you’re not Jeffrey Epstein? I’m not Jeffrey Epstein. I’m Palm Beach Pete. Atta boy, yeah. Okay, peace out.”

That’s not the best reason to become a “viral sensation,” but Pete seems to be enjoying himself.

The conspiracy theorists, meanwhile, are keeping things going and still aren’t convinced that “Palm Beach Pete” isn’t Epstein himself. “That’s exactly what Jeffrey Epstein would say,” one commenter wrote.
