TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Last weekend, Seminole Legacy was dominated by the men as the Florida State golf team hosted their annual Intercollegiate tournament. This weekend is all about the ladies, and Friday 12 teams hit the course for the first round of the Florida State Match Up.
Three Seminoles finished day one in the top 11, with sophomore Sophia Fullbrook leading the way, tied for first at -3.
Haruhi Nakatani (T3) and Elin Pudas Remler (T11) round out the highest ranked Seminoles at -2 and E respectively.
Florida State in second place as a team, shooting even par, a good day one for the group.
“I think we made a couple of small errors today that cost us a couple of bogeys,” said head coach Amy Bond. “I think if we can tidy that up a little bit, we have a really good chance, plus there’s going to be a little bit of wind blowing tomorrow, and the golf course will play a lot different. I’m excited to see how we accept that challenge and see what the golf course gives us.”
Florida State begins second round action Saturday morning at 8:45.
