Your weekend is here, Tampa Bay! Here’s a look at the news and what events are going on in the area.

Temperatures will climb back to our more typical spring warmth this weekend. 

Friday will be partly cloudy to sunny with highs in the mid 70s.  Friday night will be mostly clear with lows in the 50s.

Saturday will be sunny and nice with highs getting back up to near 79. Saturday night will be clear with lows in the 50s.

Sunday will also be gorgeous with sunny skies and highs around 80.

Beach and boating

Beach conditions will be fantastic this weekend with sunshine, highs in the 70s, and light winds.

Boating conditions will also be great this weekend with lighter winds in the 5 to 10 knot range.

FossilFest | Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | $10: Florida’s largest prehistoric show, featuring fossils, educational activities for children and adults. Exhibits also include gems, minerals, fossil shells, oddities and antique bottles. Vendors from Florida and around the world will sell and trade fossils. Free workshops on Saturday and Sunday.

Family and kids day at the Downs | Sunady, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.:Get the family together and head out to watch some Thoroughbred racing! You will also have the chance to meet track mascot Mouse the Miniature Horse! To add to the fun, there will also be pony rides, bounce houses, and a variety of games and special activities plus Buzzy’s Food Truck!

Pickleball Tournaments at Northlakes Sports Complex | Saturday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.: Parks & Recreation is hosting 12 community pickleball tournaments throughout the year at four of the county parks and recreation centers. Polk County History Center Architectural Tour | Saturday, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Join the Polk County History Center’s education team on an architectural tour of the Polk County History Center. Chasco Fiesta | Saturday, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.: Chasco Fiesta is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing lives through cultural education and the performing arts. Each March, Sims Park comes alive with nine days of events in the heart of downtown New Port Richey that brings the community together and welcomes visitors from across the region.
