NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)— A disturbance call at a North Fort Myers home led Lee County deputies to discover three children living in dangerous conditions.

On Thursday, deputies responded to a home on Gage Way in Suncoast Estates for a disturbance call. When they arrived, a police report says deputies found several adults and children inside, including Taylor Erickson.

Deputies say there was no running water, electricity, or food. The floors were soaked with wastewater and the sheriff’s office says broken glass pipes, commonly used for drugs, were scattered throughout the home.

According to the police report, a woman who lived at the home says Erickson and the children have only lived there for a month. The woman says the water and electricity went out only recently, but for most of their stay, the utilities were working.

Erickson is now charged with three counts of child neglect. WINK News reached out to Erickson’s mother for comment, and she declined an interview.

WINK News also asked the Florida Department of Children and Families whether it has had any cases involving Erickson but did not receive a response. The sheriff’s office says the children are now in a safe environment.
