A week full of sunshine with a taste of fall

  • October 14, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hey friends, I’m News4JAX The Weather Authority meteorologist Katie Garner, and I’m practically bursting with excitement over this forecast. We are headed into a full week of sunny skies here in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. According to our Exact Track 4D radar and forecast graphics, you can get ready for at least seven straight days with absolutely no rain in sight.

After the stretch of stormy and wet conditions we’ve had, this is truly something to celebrate. It’s October, and the temperatures are feeling just right. We’re talking highs in the 70s to low 80s, comfortably below or right on our average for this time of year.

Perfect weather for getting outside

It’s not just nice—it’s amazing. Whether you want to hit the beach, catch a sporting event, or just take the kids out for a walk, the weather has your back. If the kids are home from school or you’re tempted to sneak away from work (I’m not officially encouraging it!), there couldn’t be a better stretch for enjoying some time outdoors.

Gardeners, the ground is finally drying out, so it’s a great time for mowing, weeding, or indulging in some fall planting. And if you’re heading to the coast, expect 2 to 4 feet surf, but do be aware of a high rip current risk. If you’re not a strong swimmer, consider just dipping a toe or sticking to the shoreline for now. Stay safe, and keep fun first.

What to expect: temperatures, Tropics, and tips

Early mornings will start out a little cool, with lows in the upper 50s and 60s—even dipping down toward the 50s up in Georgia and along the coast. By 2 p.m., expect those numbers to climb to the high 70s and around 80. Cities all across our community—Brunswick, Yulee, Jacksonville, Palatka, Keystone Heights, Middleburg, Macclenny—are in for lots of sunshine and those comfortable highs.

The Tropics are quiet, which is always reassuring at this point in the season. At this time, there are no named storms or developing threats anywhere on the horizon.

I love seeing your sunny-day adventures! Share your fall fun with me and the whole team using SnapJAX at news4jax.com/snapjax/.
