A warm start to the new season
An unseasonably warm weekend as we head into the first weekend of spring, with highs climbing into the low 80s Saturday and Sunday. Some inland areas could potentially reach the mid to upper 80s on Sunday.
If you’ve been missing warmer weather, this is your weekend to get outside. Mostly sunny skies and light winds make it ideal for yard work, outdoor activities, or heading to the coast. This is the kind of weekend that gets people excited about the season ahead.
Perfect Conditions for Water Activities
Beach and boating conditions will be near-perfect with light winds and gentle breezes if you’re planning a trip out on the water.
Beach-goers should be aware that a moderate rip current risk continues due to onshore flow. Check what beach flags are flying before you head into the water.
The Drought Concern Continues
While the warm, sunny weather is pleasant, the drought situation remains serious. No rain is expected through at least Tuesday next week, so severe to extreme drought conditions are likely to continue or worsen in the area.
A weak backdoor front may move through Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and a low-end chance for rain. However, don’t count on it for drought relief. Rain totals will likely be under 0.25.”
