Two men were arrested after leading troopers on a chase on Interstate 95 that ended in Miami on Saturday, authorities said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Miami Beach Police were attempting a traffic stop on a blue Mercedes SUV, but the SUV didn’t stop and drove off, heading west on State Road 826.

At one point, troopers pursued the SUV on I-95, and it exited onto Northwest 119th Street, where it crashed into another vehicle and continued driving.

As the pursuit continued, troopers initiated a PIT maneuver on the SUV on Northwest Seventh Avenue, stopping it.

The two men inside were then taken into custody, and a gun was taken.

FHP said that during the pursuit, a trooper discharged their weapon at the SUV, but didn’t strike the people inside or the SUV itself.

NBC6 has reached out to Miami Police for details on the original traffic stop.
