DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – A 30-year-old Jacksonville man died Friday after his motorcycle was struck by a car that entered his pathway on State Road 21 at Collins Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred about 6:14 p.m. when a Honda sedan exited a nearby parking lot and traveled east across State Road 21, entering the path of the southbound motorcycle, the agency said. The front of the car struck the rear left side of the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died, FHP said.
The sedan’s driver, a 38-year-old woman from Orange Park, and two passengers, a 16-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, both from Orange Park, were not injured, the agency said.
The crash remains under investigation.
