Madison Cartwright, who is 5, chose her spot along the sideline of the Roper YMCA soccer field because it was the least crowded.

She was ready. She had her eye on the prize: a gold egg 2 feet in front of her.

Cartwright had her strategy in place to collect the most eggs she could during the Roper YMCA’s Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 21.

Cartwright was one of dozens of children lines around the soccer field waiting for the countdown and the egg hunt to start.

Together, they counted down from 10, and they were off.

Children, bunched in three different age groups, were on the hunt for as many eggs as they could collect.

Within minutes, the hunt was over, and children were seeing the prizes held in their eggs.
