West Palm Beach, FLA. (WPEC) — Conditions along the water are beginning to improve across South Florida, but beach hazards are still a concern.

Winds and seas are gradually calming down today, making for better boating conditions compared to earlier in the week. Even so, swimmers along the Atlantic beaches should remain cautious, as a high risk of rip currents, which are strong currents that can pull you away from shore, continues through today.

Across the region, a stretch of quiet and dry weather is taking hold. In simple terms, a large area of stable air is sitting over the Southeast, helping to keep skies mostly clear and rain chances very low through the weekend.

With fewer clouds around, temperatures are on the rise. Highs today will range from the upper 70s to mid-80s, with the warmest spots inland. By Sunday, much of South Florida will reach the mid to upper 80s.

Light winds will become even more noticeable later today and into tonight, with some areas seeing calm or variable breezes.

Looking ahead to early next week, the warm and dry pattern continues. Temperatures will climb steadily, with many areas staying in the mid to upper 80s and a few inland spots possibly reaching the low 90s by the end of the week.

A weak front approaching from the north around midweek could bring a slight chance of showers, mainly for areas north of Alligator Alley. However, rain chances remain low, and much of South Florida is expected to stay dry.
