An event in Jacksonville honored the life of fallen Special Operations Craft seal Christopher Campbell through a 5k trail run and bow hunter challenge.

On August 6, 2011 a helicopter carrying Campbell and 30 other Americans was shot down in Afghanistan. Saturday’s event– started by the Campbell family in 2012 honors his final wish, to support combat wounded veterans all through his love for hunting. Brother, Le Campbell says that the support his continued to grow each year.

This started probably with maybe 40 shooters back in 2012. Since then we’ve grown it so today is 180 shooters. And we in incorporated a 5K so today we had a little over 500 runners.

This bowhunter challenge, is full of lifelike 3 dimensional targets to inspire Bowhunters of every skillset. And each of the 31 targets in the challenge is dedicated to the memory of one of the fallen soilders who were lost in the crash.
