West Palm Beach, FLA. (WPEC) — South Florida’s stretch of quiet weather continues, but the dry air is starting to create new concerns.

Very low humidity levels are expected over the next couple of days, increasing the risk of fires spreading more easily. This is especially true for interior and Gulf coast areas, where the air is driest. In simple terms, the air is holding very little moisture, which allows vegetation to dry out faster and burn more easily.

At the beaches, conditions remain uneven. Palm Beach County is under a high risk of rip currents today. These currents can quickly pull swimmers away from shore, so extra caution is advised.

The overall weather pattern remains calm and dry. A large area of stable air over the region is keeping rain chances near zero through at least Monday, with mostly clear skies and light winds.

With little cloud cover, temperatures will continue to climb. Highs today will reach the low to mid-80s along the east coast, with mid to upper 80s inland.

Looking ahead, this warm and dry pattern holds into the week. A weak front is expected to approach Florida around Tuesday, but it will likely lose strength before reaching South Florida. That means only a slight chance of a few showers, mainly for northern areas, with most locations staying dry.

Humidity may tick up slightly later in the week, but not enough to bring widespread rain. Temperatures will continue to run warm, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and some spots nearing 90 degrees by Friday.
