The daily efforts continue to paint over the 50th anniversary color scheme on Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella Castle Repaint Approaches New Milestone

Crews have been hard at work during Florida’s temperate spring mornings as they chip away at Cinderella Castle’s prior paint scheme.

While Disney has not yet provided a target completion date, it does appear to our eyes that work on the castle has moved at an impressive rate. As of our most recent visit, we can confirm that there is only one last visible element retaining the pink hue of the 50th anniversary color scheme.

The top-most spire on the castle still shows the pink color that has now been removed from the rest of the castle’s surface. This is the platform from which Tinker Bell launches on her “flight” during the nightly “Happily Ever After” show, so it’s possible that fact may have something to do with the largely-untouched state of the spire (not including the gold elements).

Elsewhere on the castle, we can see work continues on many of the blue elements seen around the castle spires and turrets. You can see in the above photo how the turrets to the left appear to have received a second layer of blue paint, intensifying the color as compared to the turrets on the right. The same has been applied to two smaller turrets seen in the very top right corner of the image.

The flat elements of the castle facade, showing the zig-zag pattern, have also yet to undergo additional blue paintwork.

The same is true of the independent turrets in front of the castle. The rest of the formerly-pink castle walls appear unchanged from the last time we checked on painting progress.
