The final eight tickets in the NCAA men’s tournament Sweet 16 will be punched on Sunday.
No. 1 seeds Arizona and Florida will look to follow up on their dominant wins in the first round. Both teams covered their 30-plus point spreads on Friday and the Gators made some NCAA tournament history in the process. Also in action: Darryn Peterson and Kansas take on St. John’s, and UConn will try to stay alive in this tournament after a nervy first-round win.

Cox has returned to the bench and, per the broadcast, is trying to work his leg to a point where he’s comfortable to return to the game.
He had 11 points for the Boilermakers before the injury sent him to the locker room.

We’re at a stoppage in play for another media timeout and the Boilermakers are out in front again. Fletcher Loyer is a perfect 5-for-5 shooting with 4 of those being 3-pointers. He has a game-high 16 points.

The Boilermakers’ fifth-leading scorer planted awkwardly while going up for a layup and went to the floor. He was down for several minutes and went to the locker room, but did walk off under his own power.
He’s questionable to return to the game.

We are back and the two teams are still trading offensively, but the Boilermakers are on a bit of a rally (7-0 run) and Miami has hit a cold stretch.

There isn’t much between the two teams at halftime. They’re both shooting 50% or better from the field and behind the arc.

Purdue nearly erased that lead with a late rally of its own to end the half as both teams made their last 3 shots.
Boilermakers star Trey Kaufman-Renn leads all scorers with 12 points at the break; Fletcher Loyer has 10. The Canes are getting offense from everybody.
We have a good one folks!

The Hurricanes were a menace on the offensive glass in their first-round win over Missouri. And it’s a big reason why they’re back in front of Purdue at the under-4 TV timeout of the first half.

The Boilermakers and Gators have tipped and we are off!
Purdue is a 7.5-point favorite and the total is 147.5 in this one. Here’s who Yahoo’s Frank Schwab likes in the matchup:
“Miami head coach Jai Lucas has done a fantastic job in his first year leading the Hurricanes. He has a well balanced team that’s in the top 35 of offensive and defensive efficiency, per KenPom. Purdue has had a weird season, with huge preseason expectations, some disappointing losses but then a hot finish to the season that included a Big Ten tournament championship and a 33-point win in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Purdue is playing well, but Miami can keep it close.”

In a first round that saw few upsets, Arizona and Florida were arguably the most dominant teams that took the floor. They will get tougher tests in the second round, though both are favored by double digits again.
