JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A crash on I-295 east near Alta Drive shut down the highway Sunday night, leaving hundreds of cars stuck in traffic.
A flipped car surrounded by people and several ambulances was visible on a FL511 camera in the area after 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
Cars began being allowed through single-file between the wreck and first responder vehicles at approximately 7:45 p.m.
The number of vehicles and the number of people involved were not immediately known.
