PORT ST. LUCIE ── Look out Bob Marley, there’s another major cultural export coming from Jamacia.

Juici Patties, Jamaica’s beloved fast-food chain known for its signature Jamaican patties, is coming to Darwin Square.

America’s equivalent to a burger, patties are flaky, golden, handmade pastries, baked to perfection, and filled with traditionally seasoned, savory Jamaican beef, chicken or vegetables.

Juici Patties started when 16-year-old Jukie Chin began making the signature Jamaican patties in his mother’s kitchen and selling them in his parents’ grocery store.

The first Juici Patties opened in Jamacia in 1980. It is now the largest quick-service restaurant brand on the Caribbean island, with more than 60 locations in Jamaica.

Under the direction of the founder’s son, Daniel, who heads up the Juici Patties USA team, the fast-food franchise, has opened 22 stateside locations in New York and Florida since 2024.

The company uses proprietary mapping software to determine the best places for new franchises. The Port St. Lucie restaurant will be the first on the Treasure Coast. There are currently 15 restaurants in Florida, the nearest on Military Trail in West Palm Beach.

Known for its seriously good Jamaican food, Juici Patties’ success can also be attributed to its commitment to customer service. The chain also boasts one of the highest employee retention rates in the restaurant franchise industry, according to Paper Magaizine.

The Port St. Lucie location is targeting the end of this month for its grand opening.

Juici Patties is located at 3213 SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard in the Darwin Square Shopping Center. To preview the menu, visit juicipattiesusa.com.
