Sixth candidate enters race for Jeremy Matlow’s vacant Commission seat

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The race for City of Tallahassee Commission Seat 3 is getting crowded after a sixth candidate filed to enter the election.

Darryl Alfred, a Tallahassee realtor and ride share driver, announced his candidacy Monday.

In a press release, Alfred said his campaign is rooted in everyday conversations with Tallahassee residents.

“In a way, I’ve been holding town halls in my car for years,” Alfred said. “I hear what people are dealing with every day-everything from dreams and praise, to troubles with housing costs, transportation gaps and just trying to make it in this city.”

Talethia Edwards, PJ Andres Perez filed a day after Matlow announced he was running for mayor. Norm Roche filed for candidacy on July 7, according to the Leon County Supervisor of Elections website. Tom Derzypolski also filed for candidacy.
