VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A Central Florida woman was put behind bars after Holly Hill police said she was discovered stealing mail from dozens of people.
In a release, police said they responded on Sunday to a report of someone stealing mail out of mailboxes in the 800 block of Daytona Avenue.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect continued stealing mail northbound on Daytona Avenue during the active investigation,” the release reads. “The suspect was located at the Dollar Tree.”
Following the investigation, officers identified the suspect as 36-year-old Carri Miller, who reportedly had mail items from 63 addresses in Holly Hill.

“The mail was recovered and submitted into evidence at this time, with the Postal Inspectors Office already being notified,” the release continues.
Now, a notification letter is being sent to each of the 63 addresses to ask the occupants to stop by the police department to fill out a sworn statement for Miller’s prosecution.
Miller also faces 63 counts of petit theft, as well as 63 counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. She was released Monday afternoon on bond.
