PINELLAS PARK — A convicted sex offender wanted in Pennsylvania was arrested March 18 after he traveled from Sarasota County to meet a 15-year-old child he had contacted online, police said.

Ryan John Tramutola, 41, of Venice, was taken into custody without incident after arriving in Pinellas Park to meet the minor, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department.

Detectives said Tramutola had been communicating inappropriately with children online and had arranged to travel to Pinellas Park to meet the teen with the intent to commit sexual offenses. During the investigation, detectives discovered he was wanted in Pennsylvania on charges of tampering with an electronic monitoring device and a parole violation tied to a sexual assault conviction, police said.

Tramutola was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on four felony charges: traveling to meet a minor, online enticement of a child, unlawful use of a two-way communication device and prohibited computer transmissions. He also faces the two outstanding Pennsylvania warrants.

“This suspect was given a second chance by the courts and chose to reoffend,” Chief Adam Geissenberger said. “Our detectives moved quickly to identify and arrest him, and we will continue to find and arrest those who target minors.”
