PINELLAS PARK — A Pinellas Park man has been charged with possessing and sharing child pornography online, authorities said.
Austin Conroy-Hourigan, 26, was taken into custody Oct. 21 and charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography and seven counts of transmission of child pornography, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit began investigating after receiving information that child pornography was being accessed and shared over the internet, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified Conroy-Hourigan as the suspect, authorities said. The images depicted children between the ages of 8 and 12.
Conroy-Hourigan was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
