Coach Tammi Reiss Leaving URI for Florida

University of Rhode Island women’s basketball coach Tammi Reiss is leaving to serve as the women’s basketball coach at the University of Florida.

 

In 2022, Reiss signed a 10-year contract with Rhode Island.

According to state records, she earned $459,910 this past season.

 

The news was first reported by On3.

 

Reiss has had a storied coaching career at Rhode Island. Reiss this year was 28-5; captured the A-10 Tournament title and had wins over NC State, Richmond, and George Mason (twice).

 

The Rams lost to Alabama on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

 

It was Rhode Island’s second trip to the big dance in the school’s history.
