TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Great weather to kick off your weekend with plenty of sunshine and warmth for all the weekend events.
Whether it is the Greek Festival in Tallahassee, the Florida Forest Festival, St. Marks Brewfest or any other activity this weekend, Saturday is the day to do that.
I am expecting plenty of sunshine with clouds at times, especially in the afternoon. Winds will be breezy at times with occasional gusts above 15 mph. The breeze will make for a near-perfect afternoon for activities.
If you are heading to the coast today, winds will make the protected waters and bays a little choppy, with seas 4 to 6 feet, occasionally up to 8 feet. Winds up to 20 knots. Tomorrow’s boating weather will be very similar, with a chance for showers and storms.
Sunday will start dry with partly to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s. The increasing clouds will be from an approaching system that will bring some showers and a few coastal storms on Sunday evening and possibly into the early overnight hours. Right now, severe storms are unlikely.
The rain chance will continue through Monday until the front passes through. The weather setup should keep us under mostly cloudy with some occasional breaks to start the workweek. Scattered showers at times. Rain will not be heavy for the most part. Totals between Sunday and Monday will range from 0.10 to 0.25 for most. Thus, this rain will not do much for our drought. Highs in the mid-70s.
Tuesday is a dry period behind the front with a little more sunshine. Temperatures will be cooler in the mid-70s.
Another cold front follows on Wednesday, which will likely be a dry front with some mid and high clouds. The big story with this front will be a true fall chill just in time for Halloween.
