FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. (WINK) — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a flipped pontoon boat containing 11 people on Fort Myers Beach.
Deputies and the US Coast Guard responded to a turned-over vessel on Tuesday, where they found 11 people aged 60-70 aboard.
According to the sheriff’s office, large waves and high winds were responsible for the pontoon boat flipping on its side.
Two people were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
